- instructional design
You know the saying:
Give someone a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him to fish and you feed him for life.
I create customized instructional design solutions so you can catch the big one.

- staff development
Ditch the PowerPoint!
UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund), an international development agency, sought to upgrade its employee orientation and on-boarding program to an interactive e-learning experience for its multi-cultural staff.
Designing the needs assessment, creating the story-board, developing the modules, overseeing usability testing — I did all that and then some.
So how did it turn out? Click here to take a peek.
At The New School for Social Research, one of the earlier adopters of e-learning in higher education, I designed and moderated asynchronous on-line professional development courses for native and non-native teachers enrolled in the English Language Teaching Certificate program.
Two of the courses I designed became required courses.
- curriculum design
I’ll take a side order of culture, please.
For The French Culinary Institute (FCI), a world-class culinary school, I created a 19-week integrated language and culture curriculum, a teacher’s manual and a student journal for the launch of the Institute’s Italian Culinary Experience.
The program received high marks from the New York State Education Department’s Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision.
- blended learning & training
Twitter and skype and face-to-face training, oh my!
Digital Opportunity Trust, an international non-profit organization that helps people harness technology for educational and entrepreneurial opportunity, hired me to revamp the leadership training program for its corps of Gen Y interns working in schools devastated by Hurricane Katrina and to create and facilitate a customized curriculum in Spanish for the inaugural program in Mexico.
So how do you engage Millenials? With social media and blended learning, of course!
- strategic planning
The long and winding road.
CHF International, a humanitarian agency which handles multi-million dollar programs in over 30 countries, was readying itself for a change in leadership and grappling with the economic downturn. I facilitated a year-long strategic planning process to help senior management re-align goals with new institutional and market realities.
